The air strikes were carried out by A-10 Warthogs and AC-130 Specter Gunships near Al-Hasakah and Deir ez-Zor near Syria’s border with Iraq, US news channel NBC reported, citing unnamed military personnel.
The military are said to have dropped leaflets reading "run immediately or you will be killed" and carried out low-altitude flights over the targets before carrying out the strikes, which are said to have destroyed 283 vehicles.
