In documents filed in US District Court in Washington, DC this week, Solenex reiterated its previous arguments that Interior Secretary Sally Jewell did not have authority to cancel the 33-year-old lease.
"The Secretary’s cancellation to the lease was arbitrary and capricious," according to Solenex. The company has requested summary judgment.
The lease is situated in Badger-Two Medicine Area, a 130,000-acre area along within the Lewis and Clark National Forest.
