Drillers added two oil rigs in the week to 23 September, bringing the total rig count up to 418, the most since February but still below the 641 rigs seen a year ago, energy services firm Baker Hughes said on Friday.
The number of gas-directed units grew by three for a total of 92.
Growth was relatively flat when broken down by states and basins.
