Certain operators and the industry at large may not always be up to date on the best ways to decommission shut-in facilities, acting assistant secretary for lands and minerals at the department Tommy Beaudreau said during a lunch at OTC on Tuesday.
Beaudreau added that more rules may tumble out of the department later this year to not only tighten enforcement but also ensure that operators are financially capable of removing jackets and decks.
