US slams ‘unfixable’ merger deal

The US Department of Justice (DOJ) has slammed Halliburton and Baker Hughes for attempting to create “a virtual duopoly” in the oilfield services market, as the government agency filed an antitrust lawsuit aimed at scuppering the proposed merger.
