The policy was unveiled at the WA Labor state conference over the weekend, stating that if the party wins power at the 2017 state election it will hold an inquiry into gas fracking in Western Australia.
Its policy would also see it place a moratorium on any further fracking activities until it could be shown the practice would not compromise the environment, ground water, public health or contribute adversely to climate change.
