A memorandum signed by the US supermajor, as operator, and Kuwait Gulf Oil Company and sent to staff told them to take leave as of 1 August, newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat reported, claiming to have seen the document.
Staff may also have to take open-ended leave from the end of August if a resolution between parties to resume production – which was shut in in May – is found, the report claimed.
