The company revealed on Monday that commercial gas sales from Stage 1A of the project had begun, with gas being delivered to the Parmelia pipeline and Alinta Energy taking up to a maximum of 9.6 terajoules per day under a 2.5-year take-or-pay agreement.
AWE noted the project was completed on time and within its approved A$18 million (US$13.6 million) budget, with chief executive David Biggs noting the first gas sale from Waitsia represented a major milestone for the company.
