The Russian gas giant inked a pact this week with Shell, OMV and E.ON to build another twin pipeline to meet European gas demand, while also bypassing problematic transit country Ukraine.
Gazprom’s executive chairman Alexei Mller told Reuters that Wintershall, the exploration and production subsidiary of German chemicals giant BASF, was also likely to come onboard the planned scheme and is currently considering its possible participation.
