The appraisal probe 35/11-20A struck a 33-metre oil column, of which 19 metres was of good reservoir quality, in the Heather sandstone formation after being drilled by semi-submersible Borgland Dolphin in Wintershall-operated production licence 248F, according to the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD).
A further wildcat, 35/11-20 B, drilled to delineate an earlier discovery struck an oil column of 46 metres in the Heather formation, of which 29 metres were of moderate reservoir quality.
