Wison carried out the 72-hour test in Nantong, China, under a turnkey engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning contract with Exmar.
"This marks for the first time in history LNG has been produced onboard a floating facility," Wison said, adding that conducting performance testing in the shipyard shortened the time required for project completion.
Exmar is thought to be still looking for a customer for the 500,000 tonnes per annum liquefaction facility, which was once called Caribbean FLNG and was destined for a Pacific Exploration & Production (previously Pacific Rubiales) project off northern Colombia.
