Wednesday's announcement confirms earlier reports by Upstream that Aibel had landed the FEED contract on the deep-water oil project.
Abiel's scope of work on the project covers management, engineering and provision of procurement services for FEED and also has an option for the project's execution phase.
The Greater Enfield development involves the the development of the Laverda, Cimatti and Norton oil discoveries.
The current development concept envisages the subsea tie-back of up to14 wells to the Ngujima-Yin floating production, storage and offloading vessel at the nearby Vincent oilfield via subsea equipment, including about 80 kilometres of flowlines, 60 kilometres of umbilicals, christmas trees, manifolds and multi-phase pumps.
Brownfield modifications will also be needed to the Ngujima-Yin and its turret to accommodate the new fluids.
