Woodside will charter the vessel for five years, starting 2017, and will use the vessel to support its operations in Western Australia’s Exmouth and Pilbara regions.
“Australia is on track to become the world’s largest producer of LNG, so it makes perfect sense to build dual-fuel capabilities for our marine fleets here,” Woodside chief operations officer Mark Utsler said.
“Our LNG tankers use their cargo to power their engines, making them cleaner vessels that use less diesel.
