The civil action was brought against the Shire of Broome and the Kimberley Joint Development Assessment Panel by traditional landowner Richard Hunter, supported by independent legal group the Environmental Defenders Office, Western Australia (EDO), Fairfax Media reported.
The case centred on claims that approvals granted to Woodside in February for engineering and environmental studies were invalid because a report authored by the Shire had not been considered by the Panel.
