The heads of agreement could see Woodside supply between 500,000 and 1 million tonnes of LNG per annum over a period of 15 to 20 years, starting in 2019.
The agreement is still conditional on the two companies negotiating and executing a fully termed LNG sales and purchase agreement and obtaining all necessary approvals.
If the agreement goes ahead, Woodside said the gas would be sourced from its LNG portfolio.
