The accord could lead to investments of up to $1.1 billion with a prospective resource of 2.7 Trillion cubic feet.

The tract in the Santa Cruz de la Sierra department covers 99,250 hectares.

The signing ceremony was attended by YPFB president Guillermo Acha, hydrocarbons and energy minister Luis Alberto Sanchez Fernández and YPF energy and gas vice president Marcos Browne.

"These agreements are a fundamental foundation for future projects of investment in the development of reserves, which will sustain the supply of natural gas to Argentina utilising the current transport infrastructure," Browne said.
