OPINION: Guyana has celebrated a new milestone in its journey to become a major hydrocarbons hub, with US supermajor ExxonMobil starting output from the second in a series of planned floating production, storage and offloading vessels in the Stabroek block.

With an ambitious goal to reach peak production at the Liza Unity FPSO by the end of this year, ExxonMobil is in reach of achieving output of 340,000 barrels per day of oil in the giant Liza field, where the Liza Destiny floater is already on stream.
