Russian oil deliveries to Slovakia and Hungary were temporarily halted after a Ukrainian drone struck a control facility for the Druzhba pipeline in Russia's Oryol region on 11 March, the second such attack on the installation since December last year.
Russian authorities on Monday said that they were battling with a major fire at the Kavkazskaya oil transhipment and pumping facility in the Krasnodar region that was attacked in the early hours of 19 March. The Kavkazskaya facility was sending about 33,000 barrels of light, sweet Russian oil to Europe and international markets via a large oil export pipeline, operated by Caspian Pipeline Consortium.
Also on Monday, authorities said that they intercepted a Ukrainian drone heading towards the Kropotkinskaya pumping station of the Caspian Pipeline, where operations were halted in February after drones damaged gas fired power generation facilities and operations control systems. This week, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov warned western nations that oil deliveries from US- and European-led oil developments via the Caspian Pipeline will be reduced in the result of such attacks.
Attacks have been also directed at the Gazprom-operated sour gas processing plant in the Astrakhan region in the south of Russia and a key compression station on the Black Sea shore, pumping gas into TurkStream – the last remaining Russian gas pipeline link to allies Serbia and Hungary via Turkey.
