OPINION: Nobel Peace Prize winner and resistance leader Jose Ramos-Horta’s return to high political office in Timor-Leste could lead to a change of government and, in turn, a renewed effort to move the Greater Sunrise gas project forward.

Ramos-Horta comfortably won last week’s presidential election, and he was supported by the political opposition led by his long-time ally Xanana Gusmao.

It is Ramos-Horta’s second stint as president.
