Frederic Hauge, who co-founded Oslo-based environmental campaign group Bellona Foundation in 1986, has taken his struggle to the heart of establishments in Norway and elsewhere.

Bellona was conceived as a pressure group with the bottle for direct action but able to command respect by employing ecologists, scientists and engineers and other experts.

With offices in Oslo, Brussels, Berlin and Washington DC as well as Russian branches in Murmansk and St Petersburg, Bellona's technical grounding has fostered a highly practical approach towards the pursuit of objectives.
