Deirdre Michie often reminds staff at newly rebranded Offshore Energies UK (OEUK) that “change is the one constant we can guarantee in our lives”.

It's a statement that has held true since Michie became chief executive of the UK North Sea industry's main trade association almost seven years ago, the first woman to hold the role.

Known until last month as Oil & Gas UK (OGUK), the name change to OEUK reflects an expansion in the organisation's remit to cover lower carbon forms of energy, alongside the oil and gas industry it has served since 1973 when it was set up as the UK Offshore Operators Association.
