Berislav Gaso, executive vice president for exploration and production for Hungary’s MOL Group, is set to join Austria’s OMV.

OMV said its supervisory board has appointed Gaso as the new executive board member responsible for the company’s energy segment, with Gaso due to take on the position from 1 March 2023.

Gaso’s role at OMV will run for a three-year period, with an option to extend by two years and subject to mutual consent.

A spokesperson for OMV said: “Berislav Gaso will be leaving his current role at MOL by the end of February [next year] as he is taking up an executive position at OMV.

“Executive board members are [enrolled as] OMV employees, while supervisory board members can hold more positions.”

OMV chief fincial officer Reinhard Florey will hold the executive board position in the interim period until Gaso joins the company

“OMV’s energy segment is one of the key drivers for (the company’s) transformation set under its new strategy towards 2030,” said OMV’s supervisory board chairman Mark Garett.
