Ill health has forced the chief executive of Japanese floating production giant Modec to resign, just a few weeks after the company announced a series of major changes to its executive team.
The new chief executive is 64-year-old Takeshi Kanamori, who has been Modec's executive vice president and chief compliance officer for nearly three years, and had a long career with Mitsui & Co.
His predeccesor Yuji Kozai offered to resign as representative director, president and chief executive, as well as the office of director, "for reasons of ill-health. The changes are also to further drive growth and increase corporate value under new leadership amidst changes in the business environment", said Modec.
Kanamori graduated from the Department of Law at Waseda University in March 1980.
He began working for Mitsui & Co the following month and continued until 2018.
