After ONS in Stavanger, it was the turn of Brazil’s Rio Oil & Gas to enjoy a return to the spotlight after lockdown-era online events that fell far short of the real thing.

For those returning to Rio, the proceedings were as striking and full of Brazil’s special touches as ever, with lively socialising and networking on the thronging stands .

The biggest change was the switch to a downtown venue on a strip of docklands that was regenerated during the run up to the Olympic Games of 2016, with works including the showcase Museum of Tomorrow.
