Rado Antolovic’s love affair with the sea began when he was growing up on the Adriatic coast, watching ships on the open water.
The Drydocks World chief executive recalls accompanying his grandfather on his small fleet of vessels in the former Yugoslavia, performing the endless chores of a seafarer.
“I was born on the ocean doing everything… and it was a fantastic experience. Pulling the nets, cleaning the deck, fixing the engine, all of these things,” he says.
At the age of seven, he knew how to use a sextant and read the stars to do an astronomic navigation operation, quite unusual for his age.
