Equatorial Guinea has a new petroleum minister after Gabriel Mbaga Obiang Lima, who had held the portfolio for a decade, was appointed Minister of Economy & Planning.
The outspoken Obiang Lima has been working in Equatorial Guinea’s oil and gas sector since the late 1990s, and became Ministry of Mines & Hydrocarbons in 2012, and assuming the role of Opec president this year.
Antonio Oburu Ondo, 49-years-old, is the new hydrocarbons minister, having been managing director of state oil company GePetrol since 2015.
