Cyprus and Greece are considering their options if Turkey pushes ahead with a proposal to drill another exploration well in the exclusive economic zone of Cyprus.

Earlier this week, Turkey’s Energy Minister Fatih Donmez said that Turkish Petroleum’s Abdullhamid Han drillship would depart Tasucu port in August to carry out a drilling operation “in the Mediterranean”.

While the proposed well location was not revealed, comments made last week by Turkey’s Vice President Fuat Oktay suggested it would be in the Cypriot Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).
