Poland’s state agency for competition and consumer protection, UOKiK, has imposed fines totalling billions of dollars on Gazprom and five European industry heavyweights for teaming up on the Nord Stream 2 pipeline project in contravention of its regulations.

UOKiK announced the closure of its long-lasting investigation into the co-operation between Russian gas monopoly Gazprom and five European companies on providing financing to build the Nord Stream 2 gas export pipeline project from Russia across the Baltic Sea to Germany.
