Russian state controlled gas monopoly Gazprom and Ukraine’s state gas importer and distributor Naftohaz Ukrainy have signed heads of agreements that call for both sides to continue with Russian gas transit shipments across Ukraine to Europe after 1 January 2020, as well as to drop all mutual arbitration claims against each other.

A final agreement on the gas transit calls for Gazprom to ship a total of 225 billion cubic metres of gas to Europe, in the five-year period between 2020 and the end of 2024, using Ukraine’s trunk pipeline network.
