Anglo-Dutch supermajor Shell said today that its comprehensive damage assessment of its West Delta 143 offshore facilities from Hurricane Ida revealed “significant structural damage”.

The company estimates its WD-143-A platform will be offline to the end of the year, and that its WD-143-C platform will only be operational in the fourth quarter of 2021.

The WD-143 facilities serve as the transfer station for all production from Shell’s assets in the Mars corridor in the Mississippi Canyon area of the US Gulf to onshore crude terminals.
