Nigeria is confident it will secure funding from the European Union for the ambitious $13 billion Trans-Sahara Gas Pipeline (TSGP) that aims to pipe gas to Europe via Niger and Algeria.

However, President Muhammadu Buhari’s government must move fast before its window of opportunity closes.

Last month, officials from the three countries met in Abuja to discuss a revival of the long-dormant project, commissioning a feasibility study to assess its commerciality in the light of increased demand from the EU for non-Russian gas supplies.
