UK supermajor BP has resumed production from the Shah Deniz Alpha (SDA) platform in the Caspian Sea off Azerbaijan after a short period of maintenance.

According to the company, after completion of five days of inspection and maintenance, gas and condensate production from the platform has been restored, with the platform up and running since 4 August.

The company earlier said that platform and Shah Deniz 1 gas terminal suspension would not affect gas and condensate production plans for this year from the field.

The routine shutdown was already included in BP's annual work programme and budget.
