China’s energy production increased in the first two months of the year as the country continued to bring cases of Covid-19 infection under control.

The strong output is in marked contrast with one year earlier when the onset of the coronavirus pandemic forced the country to close some energy facilities, although crude production demand remains relatively lacklustre.
