ConocoPhillips intends to continue growing its presence in the liquefied natural gas sector, chief executive Ryan Lance said during the company’s second quarter earnings call on Thursday.

ConocoPhillips recently bought a minority stake in Sempra Infrastructure’s planned Port Arthur LNG export facility in Texas, which is expected to have an export capacity of 13.5 million tonnes per annum with construction due to begin in 2025.

The company has also added an extra 10% ownership stake in Australia Pacific LNG and will take part in Qatar’s North Field East project with Qatar Energy.
