Milan-based Eni has hit back against last week’s move by Ghana’s government to impose unitisation terms on the Italian major and local player Springfield E&P over oil and gas reserves in the Tano basin.

Energy Minister John Peter Amewu told the two companies to accept the immediate imposition of a unitisation agreement covering Eni’s producing Sankofa field and Springfield’s Afina discovery in the adjacent block.
