US supermajor ExxonMobil will continue to grow production in two key areas, the Permian basin and offshore Guyana, in an effort to increase supply in a tight market.

Speaking Friday during a conference call which detailed the company’s record $17.9 billion net income for the second quarter, chief executive Darren Woods said ExxonMobil worked to increase production to keep pace with growing demand.

In the Permian, located in the US states of Texas and New Mexico, Woods said ExxonMobil would continue to grow production through the rest of 2022.
