Russian oil producer Lukoil has revealed a huge blow to its gas operations in Uzbekistan following the drop in demand in China and the refusal of customers in the country to buy pipeline gas, as spot prices for imported liquefied natural gas continue to be more attractive.
Speaking at a conference call on Friday, Lukoil vice president Pavel Zhdanov said the provately held company had to completely halt gas production at the Gissar block in Uzbekistan in August.
