Jadestone Energy has been ordered to engage an independent reviewer before restarting production operations on the floating production, storage and offloading vessel at its Montara oilfield offshore Australia.

Singapore-headquartered Jadestone on 12 August shut in production on the Montara Venture FPSO and has since been working on a remediation plan for the floater’s hull and tanks.

The company has been regularly updating Australia’s offshore regulator, the National Offshore Petroleum Safety & Environmental Management Authority (Nopsema) on its progress.
