PTT Exploration & Production said normal operations are being maintained at its operated and non-operated offshore fields in Myanmar despite the political situation in the Southeast Asian country.
Gas production is continuing normally at the Zawtika field, as well as at joint venture operations including the Yadana and Yetagun fields "in order to ensure energy security", said PTTEP.
The company's local subsidiary has a business continuity plan in place to keep its business in Myanmar running smoothly and efficiently.
"The company will closely monitor the situation and provide further information should we have any updates on this," said the Bangkok-headquartered operator.
The Myanmar military took control of the country yesterday, detaining President Win Myint and the Southeast Asian nation's de-facto leader, Noble Peace Prize laureate, Aung San Suu Kyi.
