A mobile offshore production unit has been installed on the Yumna oilfield in Block 50 off Oman as a permanent production facility, according to Singapore-based field owner Rex International.

Rex said the MOPU was installed in early May 2020 during a planned three-week shutdown and, together with an Aframax storage tanker, now constitute the field's permanent offshore production facilities.

Rex operates the Yumna field (previously known as GA South) through its 86.37%-owned subsidiary Masirah Oil.

The Yumna 1 well has so far produced more than one million barrels of oil and is currently producing over 8000 barrels per day through a one-inch choke with 440-psig flowing tubing-head pressure.
