Anglo-Dutch supermajor Shell is about to start a major inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) programme offshore Malaysia, including at the Gumusut-Kakap field facilities where the operator is reportedly working to fix a compressor unit leak.

Shell has contracted Sapura Energy’s Malaysian-flagged Sapura Jane dive support vessel for the IRM campaign offshore Sarawak and Sabah, East Malaysia.

The work, which is scheduled to start imminently, will involve subsea remotely operated vehicles conducting IRM activities at various locations.
