Shell Trinidad & Tobago has started natural gas production from Block 22 in the North Coast Marine Area (NCMA) offshore sector of Trinidad & Tobago, aimed at bolstering supplies of natural gas for the Atlantic liquefied natural gas project.

The Colibri development is described as a backfill project with approximately 174 million cubic feet per day of sustained gas production initially, and peak production expected to reach 250 MMcfd.

The Colibri project comprises four subsea wells tied back to the Poinsettia platform located on the NCMA acreage.
