Floating regasification specialist Hoegh LNG has one of its liquefied natural gas floating storage and regasification units unexpectedly available for a short-term contract after the Norwegian contractor pulled the plug on a 10-year charter in India when the client could not meet its obligations.

India’s H-Energy had lined up the Hoegh Giant FSRU for its grassroots Jaigarh liquefied natural gas import project on India’s west coast.

However, after the floater had arrived on location Hoegh LNG in late April terminated the FSRU’s contract, citing the charterer’s default of the contractual terms.
