Italy’s Eni is in the market to charter a drilling rig for duties offshore Angola.

The Milan-based player is probably the most active operator in the central African nation where it has made a raft of discoveries in Block 15/06, either fast-tracked to first oil by treating them as satellites to nearby facilities, or in the throes of being developed as major new hubs.

In addition, the company — which recently agreed to merge its operations with BP — is also active in onshore acreage in Angola’s Cabinda enclave and is working on a shallow-water gas gathering project.
