India’s state-controlled Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has started the hunt for three specialised offshore vessels required for its operations in the gas-rich Krishna Godavari basin off the country’s east coast.

ONGC recently launched the chase for a trio of offshore vessels, which aim to together support operations at the upcoming KG-DWN-98/2 floating production, storage and offloading vessel, according to several sources familiar with the matter.

ONGC is preparing for the sailaway of the FPSO vessel destined for the KG-DWN-98/2 block in the fourth quarter of 2022, while first oil is being targeted by early next year, one person said.
