Paris-based Perenco is pushing ahead with a $100 million plan to boost oil production from its Pointe Noire Grand Fond (PNGF) Sud block in Congo-Brazzaville via the conversion of the former jack-up Ben Rinnes into a wellhead platform.

Perenco is also in talks to secure access to a nearby block where a tentative early development plan calls for the use of another converted jack-up.

Production from PNGF Sud is currently about 22,000 barrels per day with plans in hand to add a further 2900 bpd by drilling more wells on Litanzi, one of four producing fields on the acreage.
