Singapore’s Keppel Offshore and Marine’s wholly-owned subsidiary Keppel Shipyard has secured contracts worth around S$250 million (US$179.7 million) for the integration of two floating production, storage and offloading vessels for repeat customers.
BW Offshore has tasked Keppel Shipyard with the integration work on a newbuild FPSO. The contractor will be responsible for the installation and integration works of about 43,000 tonnes of topsides modules, deck equipment and the turret mooring system, as well as completion and commissioning support for BW.
The hull of this floater is expected to arrive in Singapore in mid-2023, with delivery scheduled for the second half of the following year.
Keppel O&M last November confirmed a letter of award for this job, which at the time envisaged the integration of some 35,000 tonnes of topsides modules and a turret. Additional options are available for the fabrication of structures such as a flare tower, the company said at the time.
BW earlier revealed it had awarded a contract to Keppel for the integration of the FPSO for Santos’ Barossa gas condensate project offshore Australia.
Keppel Shipyard has also signed contracts with Single Buoy Moorings (SBM), as well as a joint-venture company between SBM and McDermott to undertake the fabrication, installation and integration of topsides modules for an FPSO project. The yard will also support SBM with pre-commissioning and commissioning work.
Work is expected to commence in the second half of this year ahead of the FPSO hull’s arrival in the yard in the first half of 2023, with delivery of this vessel also scheduled for the second half of 2024.
“Despite a volatile market, we are pleased to be awarded contracts from our longstanding customers as it is a testament to the partnerships that we have built up over decades of collaboration,” said Chor How Jat, managing director (conversions & repairs) Keppel O&M.
“We are seeing signs of fundamental improvement in the market and are well-positioned to team up with customers to provide innovative, reliable, quality and value-added solutions.”
