Maersk Drilling said it has secured new work for one of its drillships that will see it drill deep-water wells offshore Malaysia this year for TotalEnergies and Petronas.
Shell is due to take possession of the drillship Maersk Viking where it is scheduled to drill wells at the Gumusut-Kakap project.
Maersk said Shell has exercised two options on its contract for the seventh-generation drillship.
The first option will be novated to TotalEnergies for the drilling of one deep-water well at the Tepat project, while the second option will be novated to Petronas for the drilling of one deep-water well at the Layang-Layang project; both projects are offshore Sabah.
