China’s Offshore Oil Engineering Company (COOEC) has completed the fabrication of a circular floating production, storage and offloading vessel for the Shell-operated Penguins field in the UK North Sea.

The FPSO sailed away on Tuesday to an unnamed yard in Norway for commissioning before final delivery to Shell.

In early October, COOEC's yard in Qingdao city of eastern China’s Shandong province moved the floater from the quayside to waters deep enough to allow mechanical tests to be conducted followed by cabin strength, lifeboat free-fall and vessel tilt tests in November.
