The workers hurried to clear the snow from the site of the GM4-D-class semi-submersible Beacon Pacific, which is being built for British Virgin Islands-registered player Beacon Pacific Group.

“The snow is 30 centimetres thick and temperatures dropped to minus 15 degrees centigrade,” a yard official said after the 6 January deluge.

CIMC Raffles mobilised workers to clear the sites and briefly halted work on units being built at the yard before resuming construction.
